Welcome to the pages from the archives of JulietteGodot.com, where history refuses to stay silent and stories rise from the ashes of time.

Here, the crumbling roads of the principality of Salm, currently in Lorraine France, wind straight into…
…modern-day Pittsburgh, where I write, speak, and listen for echoes that still ring true.

From the Archives
While I don’t fill a calendar with constant appearances, I do step out now and then to speak, sign books, or share a conversation about history, writing, and the real people who inspired my novel set in Salm, France.
Follow the links to find any upcoming events—whether a local gathering in the north of Pittsburgh, a virtual talk, or a quiet corner in a library where stories are passed hand to hand. Check back once in a while. When something stirs, I’ll post it here.
And if nothing’s listed just now, that’s all right too. The rhythm of writing leaves room for stillness—and sometimes the most meaningful connections begin not in a crowded room, but with a single reader reaching out. Whether we meet in person or through the pages, I’m glad you’re here.
Interested in Hosting an Event?
If you’re part of a book club, genealogical society, historical society, bookstore, or classroom and would like to invite me for a reading, discussion, or author Q&A—virtual or in person—I’d be honored to connect. If you’d like to read the book
Just reach out here and let me know what you have in mind. I may not travel far or often, but when I do, I bring stories with me.
Whether you’re gathering a few neighbors in a cozy living room or planning something more formal, I’m happy to tailor the conversation to your group’s interests—be it the writing process, the history behind the novel, or the everyday lives of the people who once walked the hills of Salm. I love hearing what resonates with readers, and every exchange adds a new layer to the story we share.
From Salm to Pittsburgh, the Past Has a Voice
This is where you’ll find the latest news from the archives about my historical fiction, From the Drop of Heaven—book signings, speaking events, interviews, behind-the-scenes research, and moments when fiction collides—deliberately—with fact. Whether I’m uncovering a forgotten tragedy in a dusty archive, or meeting readers who see their ancestors in my characters, this page connects past and present in a conversation that never really ended.
Some stories begin in the silence of old documents, others in the questions people ask after a reading—Did this really happen? Could this have been my family? I keep this page as a kind of ledger, not only of events, but of discoveries: the small, startling moments when history slips into the room and refuses to leave quietly. If you’re curious about where the story leads next—on the page or in the world—this is the place to find it.
Help the Story Travel.
Get it at your library
If you enjoyed the book and think others might too, consider asking your local library to carry a copy. Most libraries welcome patron requests, and it’s one of the simplest ways to help stories find new readers—especially in the quiet corners where historical fiction still whispers. Currently, From the Drop of Heaven is available at the Carnegie Library in Oakland and in Squirrel Hill. If you live somewhere else, request it!
Libraries have always been part of how stories endure—shared freely, discovered by chance, and passed from hand to hand. A single request can open the door for many others to stumble upon the book just when they need it. If your library needs details to place an order, feel free to send them here or share the publisher’s information. And if you do spot the book on a shelf near you, I’d love to know—every copy out in the world feels like a thread connecting reader to reader across time and distance.
Check back often. The timeline shifts, the story evolves, and history—once awakened—refuses to sleep.
